Rye, rye malt and barley malt
The Scots were a role model, but not a template, for our Waldviertel Whisky J.H.
Regionality and individuality are very important. We wanted to create something from the raw materials that the region gives us and redefine whisky from Austria.
With our rye and rye malt whiskies, we are pioneers in international whisky trends.
We also carry single malt whiskies, which consist of 100% malted barley. Our peated whiskies are created with locally sourced peat.
We have also placed particular emphasis on aging, as one of the decisive factors for influencing the character of our whisky. We store some of our distillates in used wine barrels from local winemakers, which lends the whisky special aromas and flavors. These special RARE selections (some just a single cask bottling) vary.
