The Scots were a role model, but not a template, for our Waldviertel Whisky J.H.
Regionality and individuality are very important. We want to create something from the raw materials that the region gives us and redefine whisky from Austria.
With our rye and rye malt whiskies, we are pioneers in international whisky trends.
But of course we also carry single malt whiskies, which consist of 100% malted barley, as well as peated whisky, for connoisseurs and experts.
And we have also placed particular emphasis on storage, as one of the decisive factors for influencing the character of the whisky. We store some of our distillate in used wine barrels from local winemakers, which lends the whisky special aromas. These special RARE selections (some just a single cask bottling) vary.
